Drabble-y fun...
Apr. 7th, 2005 02:43 pmSo, you know that a bunch of us had a slashy weekend in Horbling not-so-long ago, right? Well, on the Saturday night, some of us decided to try and shake off the alcoholic fog, put down the family-sized bar of Dairy Milk, and give this writing malarkey a go.
By picking random books from the extensive library [g] and selecting random page and line numbers, we ended up with first lines from which to drabble from. We used 100 words as a *very* rough guide (although mine all got progressively longer). I've never really drabbled before but it was great fun. Here's what I came up with:
( 'It was not meant to hurt...' - 106 words )
( 'He pulled off his rubber gloves...' - 155 words )
( 'Their owners were still alive...' - 218 words )
( 'I can wait an hour...' - 242 words )
Finally, there's this one that never got aired in Horbling, as I didn't finish it until I was coming back on the train from
gingerpig's. You have no idea how hard this one fought to try and turn itself into a full blown fic! [squishes fic-sized bunny into drabble-sized container]
( 'We're in possession of information to the contrary...' - 414 words )
Hope some of you were vaguely entertained by that little lot. Right, back to the job-hunting I go... ;o)
