The good, the bad and the fangirliness...

Well, the good news is that after discussing the merits of upgrading me to a laptop, D got all inspired by the home networking kits in PC World:
D: I found this great thing today... [starts talking about cards, cables, modems and connections, which is where I tune out]
Me: [tuning back in again] So, if I go ahead and buy my laptop, I'll be able to connect it to the Internet?
D: Yes.
Me: Using the broadband connection?
D: Yes.
Me: At the same time as your computer?
D: Yes.
Me: From the sofa?
D: Yes.
Me: Wirelessly?
D: Yes.
Me: So I could tag, chat *and* watch DVDs?
D: Yes.
Me: I love you!
D: Yeah, yeah... [rolls eyes]
The bad news is, my car failed its MOT. Majorly failed. My mechanic listed suspension, shock absorbers, front breaks, rear brakes, front exhaust, rear exhaust, headlights and indicators, and I was already looking at a £500 bill before he'd even finished.
Wouldn't it have been kinder to tell me what it'd passed on? [g]
Anyway, on a car that I only paid £600 for in the first place, it's just not worth it. So, a bit earlier than I'd planned, I'm going to have to buy a new car. And I *really* wanted that laptop too, but as my mum pointed out, 'You can't get from A to B on a laptop'! I could try... It also means that any holiday plans (like my trip to Iceland - sorry
felisblanco) will have to be put on hold as well. Stoopid car!
And in fangirl news, only
gingerpig wants to see 'Common Rotation'? Shame on you all! Shall I just book the tickets for both of us then GP? Hmm... 'Common Rotation', James Marsters - twice, Collectormania... And yet my financial destitution still comes as a surprise to me!
[thinks about sorting out priorities]
[gives up on the realisation that the sensible things in life aren't nearly as much fun as fandom]
