My new hobby, let me show it to you...

It's not my fault, I swear. It all started with the LEGO!Me and LEGO!Hubby that were made for me and D as an anniversary gift. I've posted pictures of these before, but for anyone who might have missed them, here they are again:

They were made for us by a friend of my brother-in-law, and basically this guy just loves making these little LEGO figures. He's also extremely talented and does a lot of hand customisation, which is completely awesome. I decided that what I really wanted were some little Franklin & Bash figures, but the thought of having to explain the concept of Peter and Jared to someone I don't know all that well, including details of what they should be wearing, what they should look like, and so on, was a little bit daunting. Undeterred, I thought to myself, "Well, how hard can it be?"
Cue one extremely expensive and addictive new hobby...!
The original plan was to try and make a LEGO!Peter and a LEGO!Jared for
gingerpig's birthday. I tracked down a website that sold a variety of minifigure parts separately and set about recreating Peter and Jared in an inch and a half of plastic. As soon as they were assembled, I was immediately back on the website to order another set of parts for me, because there was no way that I could not have something that was that cute. (A further set may have also been despatched to
jekesta on the grounds of sharing the silliness!)
Then, of course, there are the accessories. Because when you realise how much additional crap is available, you can get a tiny bit carried away with kitting out your people with all the necessary (and unnecessary) accoutrements. And once I realised they made great fandom-y gifts, there were a couple of other pairings that I just had to have a crack at. Anyway, for your amusement, here are my LEGO people doing silly things...
This is where it all started - with Peter and Jared (and yes, Jared is shorter than Peter!)

Here they are with their bags, all ready for a day in court.

When they're not lawyering, they like to relax with some music.

They also like to relax in other ways... *g*

After their Navy case, they now enjoy the occasional trip to the shooting range.

But sometimes, role-play can get a little out of hand!

This is Kate Beckett and Kevin Ryan, a minority 'ship in the 'Castle' fandom and a birthday present for
merlins_sister.

It's no surprise that Beckett is the one holding the hand cuffs! (And they have recently been promised little bulletproof vests for Christmas!)

This is Merlin and Arthur from the BBC's 'Merlin', and who were created as birthday present for
princess_s.

Being all historical, they get to have big swords!

But historical role-play is still known to get out of hand!

Finally, in an homage to the crack!fic Castle/Franklin & Bash crossovers that
merlins_sister and I are currently writing, here we have Peter hitting on Ryan, Beckett threatening to take him out and Jared trying to save his boyfriend! Yes, it's possible that I had way too much fun with these pictures...

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you - my cast of characters:

So, the question is... Who do I tackle next?!
